We managed to cram in time for a passion project in between all the client work. A short documentary on the rare genetic disorder Menkes Disease. And a wonderful thing happened along the way. When we asked colleagues to review an early draft, one of them offered to redo the music. Jan Broberg Carter is not only an accomplished film composer but is a former ER physician, so to say she was a perfect fit on this project is understating things. Lucky for us her travel to Algiers was delayed. Jan was set to compose the score to the new sequel to the film "The Battle of Algiers". Their delay was our gain as she was able to squeeze this project in first.
July update: Academy Award nominated actress Mary McDonnell has lent her voice to this film as the narrator. McDonnell is known for her roles in Dances with Wolves, Independence Day, Battlestar Galactica, Major Crimes and the John Sayles films Passion Fish and Matewan. (Not her in the online version --yet)
